Before Your Visit
Getting ready for your appointment
Your surgeon's office will provide instructions specific to your procedure. These are general reminders as you prepare for your visit to AOSC.
- Bring a valid photo ID and your insurance card, if applicable
- Arrange for someone to drive you to and from your appointment
- Bring a current list of your medications
- Follow your surgeon's specific instructions regarding eating, drinking, and medications before your procedure
Day of Your Procedure
What to expect when you arrive
When you arrive, our team will check you in and review your health history. A member of the anesthesia and nursing team will meet with you before your procedure to answer any questions.
Family members or companions are welcome to wait in the facility's lounge area during your procedure.
After Your Procedure
Recovery and discharge
After your procedure, you will be moved to a recovery area where our nursing team will monitor you as you wake from anesthesia. Someone must be available to drive you home and stay with you, as advised by your surgeon.
Your surgeon's office will provide specific post-procedure and follow-up instructions tailored to your case before you leave.
